Re windows
Is it possible to disable the passenger and drivers windows from doing the opening and final closing when the doors are opened and closed.
I have tried resetting them but they both keep going down

I would like to think that i could operate windows to open and close them from the control buttons inside
You can operate the windows from the switches inside the car to open and close. The dropping of the window when you open the door is an auto function to protect the glass on the door. Or do you mean something else? I seem confused then.
Many thanks for your advice
When the windows frequently lose their memory setting, that generally means it's time to get a fresh battery in your car.
As many members on this forum will attest, window memory function is one of the first signs of a failing battery.

+1 to mhminnich and all the suggestions above. Failing windows up/down on door opening is a classic sign of Low Battery Charge.
A good battery should hold approx 12.8V and if it drops below that all sorts of warning messages can come up on the dash when you start the car. If I haven't driven the car in a few days, some of my other signs are:
1. TRAC Control
2. DSC
3. Low Brake Fluid
4. Check Engine Light
etc
Either give the car battery a good overnight charge and/or get it tested at any local garage/store who should do it for free.

I don't get any other warning lights so i will give it a good charge and see what happens
What about when you are out of the car? And to get in and out you'd have to drop the window enough not to risk it breaking, and then raise it again to stop it leaking.
