Is it really The ABS
OK verified bbattery I forgot that I had put one in about 5 months ago. the two major codes I am getting are
-- CAN transmission control module/ABBS Control module circuit malfunction
- SCP (J1 850) (-) circuit failure
I am still thinking that something is still not hooked up from the work that was done on my car. I am going to take it back to them and see if they can figure it out. They did not even have a code reader to read my car, so what they find could be interesting. It is a very high-end car repair facility, Porche, Mercedes, BMW, but my car may be too old.
.
I am at a loss so if anyone could help me figure this out please do. As I said, it only has 22K miles on it, so it still has a lot of life.

I just found this on another thread. "If I had to guess, yes, some connection problem, perhaps in the ABS module. You may also have an issue with the left front sensor cable. But if you are replacing the module, you can wait to see if the sensor issue is fixed by the replacement.
Don't know about WDS, but IDS has the option to clear all (as suggested by Bob) which works fine when the eraser is not there for the individual code."
Talks about a left front sensor cable. That is the fender that they replaced so they were in the area of that. So what cable is this speaking of and where would it be.

If you have a 97 xk8, as I do, there is an extra ground wire to each of the front wheel abs sensors not found on later cars. This ground wire is attached to the brake line on one end, and has a ring terminal that is attached on the bolt that holds each abs sensor to the hub/spindle. Check it is there and in good condition.
you don’t mention EXACTLY what the body shop did whilst fender and liner were offf….

My ring terminals have been changed but wire has a sticker/tag with Jaguar part number on it.
also, when I removed and reinstalled my abs module I bent three of the pins, but was still able to reconnect the harness plug, and was getting codes. When I straightened out the pins, and was re plugged in I was all good. Unplug your abs module harness and check that no pins are bent over, and carefully plug back in
Well, I guess this can be closed. After checking all the grounds and everything else, I got another module, and so far, so good. I have learned that if you are working on a car that does not require power, no matter what the work is, disconnect the battery. I am sure that with the repairs and everything else they did on the car, they shorted out my module, and then I probably did it with the first replacement.
Also, they sent me back my original module and said that it had other issues other than the solder.
