Mine was a worn shock bush. Put the lower bearing in the palm of your hand and cup, then have someone gently bounce the corner of the car, if you feel movement, it is the bush. Worth a try.

Sounds like a rear lower shock bushing is going bad. Do as suggested in the last post from RaceDiagnostics.

+2 on both replies.
If you want to do a DIY change there's a thread on making the tools.

Hello, I have same problem slow speeds only between 10 and 35 MPH.

Are the shock bushing part of shocks?

I have cats system and I replaced rear shocks and did not do anything to noise. Almost like a hollow long piece of metal noise. Been on rack 4 or 5 times looking for loose pipes and/or parts nothing. Replaced a broken tie rod did nothing.
Only good thing is can't hear it when top is down and since top is down 95% of the time!

Took to dealership, they have no idea! Surprise, Surprise!!

Let us know if you correct the problem, Please.

Thanks and

Happy Motoring...

Here is how I did it without the tool, a bit more work and you need to find someone with a press.

FWIW - I had the exact problem you described on my 07 XK with CAT suspension. Everyone and his brother swore the knock was from the rear of the car.

In a seemingly unrelated event, the steering seemed ever so slightly vague and right front shock was discovered to be leaking fluid and replaced. BOTH PROBLEMS SOLVED Sound is a strange thing on these cars.
