Remote has fresh batteries. Car has a brand new battery and runs every day.
Here is the problem: When I try to lock the car using the remote, the driver's side makes a clicking sound inside the door but the door handle does not move (lock) The passenger side, however, cycles two or three times and then locks. Unlocking the car is the driver's side clicks and the passenger side cycles and then unlocks. If I try using the remote several times in a row, the whole system stops working.
When I manually lock and unlock the handle from the inside, both door locks seem to work normally.
Any ideas?

In most cases a cycling lock indicates a bad microswitch in the door lock assembly. See JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

Wrestling the Door Latch assembly out of the door is quite a challenge the first time! There's a excellent video in post #1 at number four in this FAQ thread:

Thanks for the replies. This forum is such a great resource! I will tackle removing the doors and getting to the switches. Seems like with the locks and the mirrors I need to dive in there anyway.

I really don't have any much kind of experience with the power door lock problem because i have normal lock doors in my home and office. Whenever i find in trouble with the lock system i call a locksmith to repair or replace the lock system.
