Default removing fans on 2003 XKR; I'm stuck!

So I have a 2003 XKR and am replacing the octopus hose and valley hoses. Which means I have to remove the SC which means I have to remove the fans to get to the SC belt tensioner. I have disconnected the electrical connectors at the top of fans on the driver's side and have removed the upper radiator hose on the passenger's side. Also, I have removed the two nuts the secure the fan shroud to the radiator.

At this point I cannot yet lift out the fan assembly.

I feels like there is something hanging it up on the lower driver's side but I cannot see what it is.

My other option is to get a serpentine belt tool which in retrospect I should have done instead of messing with the fan assembly as I now see that the bolts used to secure the fan shroud to the radiator have disappeared somewhere!

I've searched this forum and have not found answers to my specific questions.

So, two questions:

1. What else do I have to do to get the fan assembly free? If I have to disconnect something from below do I need to remove the front plastic skid plate, remove the front wheel, jack up the car, ... ?

2. Any ideas on where those fan-radiator shroud bolts went and how to replace them? If they are gone for good, any ideas on securing the shroud to the radiator?

Thanks in advance.

Not an XKR, but the XK8 has 2 bolts on each side of Rad. and once they are removed and connectors are unplugged, the fan slide up and out. Suggest you be careful and not let the captive nuts drop out. They are sometimes difficult to re-install. The tensioner needs a 3/8 pull handle rather than 1/2" I think.

Hate to tell you but you can quite easily get the belt off without removing the fans. Put a length of galvanised pipe down beside the tensioner and use the pipe to lever against the tensioner spring. Sounds gash but it is the quick and easy way that causes no damage and saves significant time.

Also worth bearing in mind that there is a small plastic clip at the bottom of the radiator that holds a pipe in place, an oil cooler pipe maybe?

As you try to pull the radiators out they will be attached to the pipe with this clip.

Reach up from underneath and just pull the pipe out of the clip, and hey presto, the radiators will pop up ok.

It is an air conditioner line that goes from the compressor to the receiver/dryer that is attached by a plastic clip to the fan housing.
You are almost there.
