Default Replaced air intake hose problem

I just replaced the black air in-take hose and not sure if I installed it right.
my other one was broke and I didn't pay enough attention when I removed it. There was a bottom piece that was connect to the base that didn't come with new hose, I just can't seem to figure out how that fits.

Do you mean the round black hose from the air filter housing to the throttle body?

Sounds like you're talking about the rubber seal between the intake tube and the throttle body.

Just fit the seal to the intake tube...it has a groove around its circumference...and then lower the tube and seal onto the round throat of the throttle body. Make sure the seal isn't folded on itself before you tighten the tube down with the bolts...you want an airtight seal.
