Welcome to the forum Jag1968,

Are you CERTAIN you've slackened off the adjuster?

It's clockwise to slacken and anti-clockwise as shown here to tighten:

Thanks for the response Graham I've adjusted both ways to make sure took shoe to biting point and gone other way as far as
Possible with free moving drum I've also slackened hand brake cable as well to make sure it was as clear as possible
Thanks

I was at a chain repair shop one time getting an oil change. Some old lady had a toyota what ever that she clearly had been driving for some time. She was there for a brake job. The guys in the shop could not get any of the discs off the car, they told her to take it to a dealer. ha ha ha

I'd rather not brake them. the disc is freely moving
And I can slide the drum up and down the studs by hand
But jams up as it gets to the edge of the hub and jams up
In the hub carrier there is a sensor I've disconnected the cable
But the sensor is still in the carrier I've also removed the axle nut but I can't see this being the problem is there any thing I could!d have missed

It's most likely to be a ring of corrosion around the inner edge of the drum part of the disc assembly, isn't it?

Usually the drum brake linings inside the disc for the handbrake keep a centre band of metal nice and clean. The bits either side of the shiny band rust up and the rust expands so when you try to pull the disc off the rusty bit catches on your shoes, even if you've slackened them.

Hit around the edge with a claw hammer to see if you can 'shock' away some of the built up rust. Then pull the disc/drum towards you and see if you can hit it from behind, although usually the dust plate makes this a PITA.

If you can get in behind at all, maybe see if you chip away at the rusty ring - which sounds wrong on many levels, but I hope you know what I mean

Well it would take my mind of the car piersman but she's already
Gone to bed and she doesn't like it when I wake her up back to the car with the drum pulled out as far as I can get it I can actually see 5mm of the shoes so it seems to be past any rim
If there's nothing that I haven't released I guess it must be just jamming up on the shoes

In that case, just keep hitting it harder! It'll come off.

Hi again fellas success at last tried hammering disc of again
Wasn't working and when drum was of as far *** I could
Get it drum was still turning freely so decided it must be
Something else decided to grab file and file rim of hub
After a little filing drum slipped straight off it would appear that the edge of the edge of the cylindrical hub center was a fraction out of shape witch was enough to stop it slipping of now can anyone suggest a good place for me to get bearings and shim's
Thanks

Good to hear it's off at last!

Your latest question - a perfect example of why we ask members to put a Location in their profile and vehicle details in their Signature.

As you're in the UK, I'd suggest S N G Barratt in Bridgnorth (forum sponsor and good prices) or Jaguar Spares North East in Peterlee (good prices for brakes and bearings).
