Restricted Performance
I was getting P0301 last fall when I put my 2000XKR away for the winter. The battery is pretty new and reads 14.5 volts on my code reader. I have swapped coil1 and coil2 to see if the code would move with them and it didn't. I changed all the spark plugs (they were old and needed to be changed regardless) but that did nothing.
When I changed the plugs I did notice a few plugs had oil on them so I gently chased the plug hole with paper towel to try and soak up oil. The car does smoke so I suspect that the valve seals are allowing oil past. I had a mechanic replace the timing chain, tensioners (primary and secondary) when I purchased the car so I doubt the oil is a gasket problem since he replaced everything in the top side when he did the job.
Any suggestions as to next steps?

Don't do the hard reset without a compelling reason as it clears the OBD monitors and learned data.
You can then get Catch-22 where a fault blocks monitors but they can't flag the fault...

Headlights are good
(Seat motors if you like, too. I can also use the heated windshield but you probably don't have the kind of weather we get so likely don't have that.)
It's to make sure any "surface" charge has gone i.e. you get a proper reading.

Load testing showed no problems 12.5 before start and 14.2 after start only varied to 14.18 after three minutes. I suspect fault in ignition module but I think in the 2000 XKR it is integrated into the ECU. Is there anyone who rebuilds ECUs the 2000 XKR isn't on the list at ASI?

Any ideas of how to troubleshoot between ECU and fuel injectors or is there another possibility? I have swapped coils and the misfire stayed on cylinder one. Replaced all plugs since they needed it anyway and did a battery load test and the battery appears to be fine. I keep the car plugged into a battery tender at virtually all times when vehicle is not in use.
