Ok next dilemma today,

After fault finding my stereo issue and washing her,

It's now gone into restricted performance, put the OBD reader on and have the following fault codes that will not clear:-

SLM (security locking module)

Fault 1....U1135 = Current ignition state not obtained

Fault 2....U1041 = vehicle speed signal - invalid or missing message.

Any help or ideas how to resolve, what's causing the problem will be greatly appreciated

 

I have the exact same messages on my 99 XK8. Can anyone help with this?

History:
Both key FOB's stopped working at the same time. Cleaned, replaced batteries, did all the reprogramming, etc., never worked again.
Replaced SLM with another I got on Ebay. Did not fix the problem. Left the replacement unit in the car for the last year.
Recently bought icarsoft scanner and it had the exact same codes as the post above.
Took replacement SLM out and installed original unit in car. Still have the same messages showing for the original SLM. (At least I can conclude the Ebay one probably isn't faulty like I've been assuming for a whole year!)
Haven't tried reprogramming the FOBs yet, but am quite certain they will not work. Car seems to not be able to detect them when pushing the button to sync.

Anyone know what these codes mean and what to look at anywhere in the car? I have traced all the wires I can, checked the antenna (convertible model), checked all fuses, etc, etc., but cannot get these FOBs to work, and cannot clear the messages.
