Default Reverse senors...

I recently got my 02 XKR back from having it repaired after getting hit in the rear. They replaced one of my reverse sensors.

I've had the car for a little over 3 weeks. When I put the car in reverse, the tone that indicates the proximity of the rear of teh car to some object just stays "on" for about 10 seconds, and then stops. It does not alternate on and off like it used to to.

This started happening very infrequently when I first picked it up. It kept happening more often until last week when the tone/sensors stopped working completely, and I am to the point I am now....

I won't tell you that the shop that did the repair is arguing with me about the sensor getting "hit" after I picked the car up. (Which is BS by the way...)

My question is: Do the reverse sensors have to be "reset" in any way after they have been disconnected? In the car's computer? Disconnect the battery? etc?

Have you tried unplugging the reverse sensor module for a few seconds?

I have heard something about the sensors, apon being replaced or repaired, needing to be reset as such. Try the module like lew recommended or pull the entire car's power for a few minutes. I doubt your shop did anything of the sort when they were finished.
