Any good leads on rotors? Where do you get yours from?
Prefer drilled, but will take slotted...I do not like look of plain rotors...

Mine has the R Performance/Handling package, and it seems they are larger?
Brembo's are $1,100 a pair, so looking for something a bit less, but still quality.

I think they all R's from 2003-2006 have the same rotors and 'cats' suspension. Only difference is the wheels

 

I recall someone saying the handling package ones were thicker and wider...but it's hard to navigate what is the right fit...

 

I've heard good things about "brakeperformance.com". Also, ebc makes cool rotors and pads that aren't too pricey. The Brembos are the larger brakes (355/330)

No, I believe thickness, hole count/size/pitch come into play. I believe one of the sticky docs are the brembo brake size specs.

 

The EBC USR1600/USR1601 should fit. They are cool, black, slotted rotors and rated pretty high. Amazon has a pretty good price on these (1 set left, prime, sold by amazon).

 

You can have an XKR without Brembos. I think in the parts catalogue it asks do you have "R" performance brakes, which is the Brembos. Im sure you can find other brands around that are similar to Brembo, should be same size. I've heard EBC work well.

Can't comment on those (I'm sure they're fine), however, there's no mention of size. I'd verify they fit the Brembos before I ordered.

 

As far as I know, yes, 355mm front, 330mm rear will fit, if they are made for an XKR. Normally, the minimum thickness is engraved on the rotor for reference. Measuring the actual thickness with a caliper would tell you where you stand.

Jaguar had 2 options: plain and drilled. I believe plain was sold with the silver calipers, whereas the drilled rotors were sold with the calipers painted red.

You can look around for Jaguar parts, here is an example from a reputable place:

Then, there is the after market. One of the manufacturers is Centric/StopTech. There are several options, from plain to drilled and possibly slotted. You can find those at Rockauto or even eBay. This will be the cheaper option.

Another manufacturer is BrakePerformance. They seem to make nice kits too, included slotted. Seems to be direct sales off of their web site.

My car has drilled rotors with silver calipers. Marketed and sold new with that combo. 2000 model.

 

That's what concerns me. They don't have a sub option for Brembo vs NonBrembo.

 

dsd, spoke with a rep, and she confirmed these are ok for my Brembos. looks like they will be a go.

I've used these People for years for Rotors and for Brake Pads....I have their Frozen Rotors on my 2005 XKR right now and they hardly show any wear - Over 40,000 miles...They will outlast the Car.......The Pads are dustless and really work well.....They freeze the Rotors down to something like -300 degrees to align the metal someway and it makes them last longer.....The Pads are Hawks and the ones I have are: Front: Hawk HP Plus #HP193N-670 @ $186.26 pair and the Rears are: Hawk HP Plus #HB194N.570 @ $156.58 pair.
This is the way to go, if you plan to keep the car....They are the best and you can use my Name!

thanks Billy! I just got Akebono Ceramic pads, so I'm good...but will check out the rotors...

 

I have Centric rotors for a few years now and most definitely would NOT recommend them. Have had all kinds of trouble and they were out of balance when I got them, if you can believe that. After lots of fiddling it is better but there is still a slight vibration that I just know is those stupid rotors.

Had been looking at Brake Performance based on some other peoples experience, but I am interested in what you decide to go with and your experience.

 

The only place besides the dealer I have found the correct rotors for the XKR Brembos is SNG Barrett. The XKR had an option for Brembo brakes and it was $500 extra. I still have the window sticker for the car. It came with the Detroit 20" BBS wheels as they were needed to clear the brakes.

 

The R Performance Brembo brakes fit the 18" wheels. I have them with Aris wheels.
