Default Searching for a "J"

I lost my "J" on the trunk, so I am now the proud owner of an "AGUAR XKR"

Any ideas where I can get one (besides the dealer). I've been looking high and low on the net.

You are 1 of a list of many "AGUAR" owners.

curious... what's the dollar amount for a "j" from you friendly neighborhood jaguar dealer?

Just wondering why you would need to find an alternative source, specially since S&H would seem to negate a lot of cost advantage with finding a used one on the web, especially since most breakers would probably only sell a set. Also, keep in mind there are several different styles of fonts I have seen used on the back of XK8s so even if you found one, it may not be the right one.

I remember a post from a dealer tech some time ago claiming that it was always the 'J' that came off and he had many bags of all the other letters.

The complete 'bag of letters' is $33.60 in a two year old price list. Part no. HJB5980AB. Fits XKR (not XK8) '00 through '02.

Might try one of the used part web sites that broadcast to many yards. Surely there is a XKR out there with a bent trunk lid but it will probably be missing the 'J' also.

This may help. Here is an eBay auction for Jaguar Trunk Emblems. Worth taking a look at.
Good luck,
Brian

Default copped out to dealer

Thanks everyone. Good ideas all around. The set on Ebay UK looked about right, but the years were off slightly. From what I could see on line and the forum comments, there are indeed slight variations between some models so I wanted to make sure I got the right ones. Thus, I called and ordered from my local dealer. It is $50 for the set of letters (I gave him my VIN to ensure it was right).
So everyone- I now have a spare "AGUAR" if anyone needs one of the non-J letters now or in the future.

That's a very nice offer. I'm sure that someone in need will take you up on it.
Good job!

Default applying the J

After a little back and forth, got the letters. Now ready to stick on the J. Anything special I should do? Was gonna clean the area with a little alchohol to get off any grime and stick it on around midday once it hits 50 or so. Warmer the better I guess.

Would not hurt to run a strip of masking tape under all the letters to align the bottom edges.
