I would love to see this seat problem that everyone is talking about. I saw Sam’s video on this but would like to see it close up to better understand the problem.

Are there any photos around of the usual traces that break?
Or is it just a case of getting a magnifying glass and looking?

Cheers
Drew.

The case is availible seperately. As far as repairing these I dont know how to solder the circuit on the board but I have had great sucess soldering a wire from the origin of the tracer to the destination. Due to the inherent cause of this concern being the case wearing on the circuit board this repair would be eliminating the cause.

Hi there.

I have a bad seat control module for a 2004 XK8, # lje2160ab/xxx. Might you have or sell replacements? Or fix?

Thanks... what is your direct contact info?

Did you find out if parts are interchangeable. I put the older part in mine and seat heater won't work but everything else does. Does the module control the seat heater?

The seat heater wiring goes through the module IIRC, but there is also another connector to the heating elements wayyyyy back under the seat, almost where the cushion meets the seat back.

I replaced part LJE2160AB/XXX seat module with part LNC2160AD/XXX because seat would not move backwards. Now with the new part the seat heater doesn't work but everything else does. I switched the driver's seat module and the heater works on both seat with that module. So does the new part not have the heater capacity or is it programmable and if so how do I program it? Otherwise, anyone got part LJE2160AB/xxx?

xxx is the program code (Known as VCATS code). It usually can be found on a label on the left rim of the spare tire well, just under the side carpet.

If do not get a unit with the matching code, the dealer (or someone with access to the dealer tools) will need to program it.

I can fix your old module, that would be the simplest fix.

Smile Seat Module Missing

Hello, I just bought my first Jag, and it is AWESOME!! However, the passenger seat module is missing. I called the Dealership, and this part has been discontinued. Any ideas where I can get part # LJE2160AB/XXX

I also understand that it has got to be programmed in order to work, so would need to get one with the coding erased so I can get it reprogrammed by the dealer.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

You are going to have to find an used one. The passenger seat module does not require programming as long as it is close enough to your part number. Pull the driver seat to see that.

If you need a module for the passenger side , I can confirm that a that LNC2160AD seat module is interchangeable with LJE2160AB. The only difference is that it has no memory function ( which the passenger seat does not have ) I just installed an LNC2160AD on my passenger's side and it works fine. The 160AD is much cheaper and easier to find on EBay
