Default seat head rest

I have a XKR 2003 and the headrest is stuck in the extended -all the way up-position. When I lift up on the seat back release to access the back seats it activates a motor in the seat back but nothing moves and it stops after 3 seconds.
. unable to manually move it. Any ideas on how to lower it without tearing the seat apart?

OP , there’s this and so much more already in the forum. Acquaint yourself with all of the various search functions and it will help you immeasurably.

admittedly the search functions can be non intuitive but after a while you’ll be able to streamline the process and find what you need easily.

it does help to uncheck the “search all forums” selection and just search the X-100 forum.

also the “sticky” section at the top of the page bears close examination. It represents years of accumulated knowledge.

My 2006 XKR did that too. Took the plugs apart under the seat apart and cleaned the contact pins. When put everything back together, presto!, the headrest works again.
