I need to replace the drivers side seat memory module in my 1998 XK8. The part numbers on the module circuit board are PWB 4949 and F6RF-14A608. My local Jaguar Dealer told me the part is no longer available through Jaguar and has no idea where I can get one. I've checked EBAY and other used Jaguar Parts websites to no avail ...... Anyone have any ideas where I can find the part?
RJW; I used this company to repair my ECM 2yrs ago. They did a great job. Good price and warranty. No Problems so far. They service all types of modules.

To echo, the best path is to repair these modules. They normally all fail the same way (the outer circuit board tracks rub against the hard plastic case and eventually fail). There is (somewhat fine) soldering involved to install shunt wires to replace these tracks. Several companies/individuals offer these services for a fee. Repairing is the preferred path as getting another module could require "programming" its compatibility with the ECU for full functionality (seat heater, etc).

Fmertz's post got me psyched to open my passenger side module, with all seat movement gone and the only remaining function was the seat heat. I took it to the Jag Dealership who kept it for three days and charged me $185.00 to tell me there are no new modules anywhere and they could not repair it. So I'm posting these pics in the hope it may help others avoid the Jag s.tealership.
1- First picture, indeed, there is a design flaw. The seat module circuit board is sandwiched between the two sides of the plastic case. It should be fastened to insulators but the copper tracers are in direct contact with plastic that will eventually fail.
2- Cleaned the affected area with isopropyl alcohol and cotton *****. On close inspection it seems there are no open circuits. Plugged the board back into the seat and it works! Just cleaning off the conductive black goop fixed it.
3- If your seats are still working consider fixing the design flaw. I put a piece of electrical tape where it contacts the case, and recessed the offending edge on the plastic case with a boxcutter knife. Once the module fails it cannot be replaced, and if lucky it may perhaps be repaired depending on the extent of damage. Preventing the damage is a worthwhile 30 minute procedure.
p.s. After taking the pic I ran a strip of electrical tape along the entire edge of the circuit board to prevent further failures.
Opened the module and the damage to the circuit board was obvious.
- Damaged edge of circuit board after cleaning with alcohol. Save a costly or PIA repair by protecting this wear point in your seat modules.
It's pretty straightforward, you can follow all of the traces and vias easily. There may be microshorts and disconnects that are not apparent by looking but are easy enough to find with an ohmmeter, focused on connectivity and shorts on the edge traces and vias. One of mine below before the fixes (much moisture infiltration into the edge of the board on the left and bottom) and after. How did this work in the first place? Micro short on another one.
"99 XK8 Convertible no headed seats. Seat Control Module LJA2160AG/XXX. This is the driver's seat module. I switched it with the passenger seat. The memory part of the seat and steering column still won't work correctly. In position 1 or 2. I opened the module expecting to find what all you found. Well, the board is pristine. Looks like brand new. Not even dusty. One thing I did notice was when I kept the selector on the steering column in auto mode. When I inserted the key in the ignition and moved the key around a little, the steering column stopped moving into position. It doesn't continue into position even after the car is started. I have to do it manually. Any thoughts. The seat has never moved unless done manually.
Thanks
