I have 1998 xk8 all this happen at the same time ,top will not go up or down ,rear fogs do not work ,trunk and fuel door button in car do not work,fob does't work, massage on dash (tail light fail , trunk open )
this has gone on a week + . Also it all worked for about 2 hrs and did it again and still is

did you first try a hard reset by pulling the negative cable, then touching it to the positive terminal? So many 'unrelated' electrical issues are often corrected by a hard boot procedure...I had other random symptoms - dome light would not turn off, alarm would not arm, nor car would lock...it just beeped at me. When its possessed-type behavior, always try the hard reset first, works for most exercisms.

 

and please don't forget to reprgram your windows...banging that glass on the a-pillar trim sends chills down one's spine...

Also, it is the same sec. mod. I was driving and it work for a about 2 hrs
and did it again .It has been the same as stated
something new, the battery is dead (new 2 months ago)and when I close the door I get sec cherp like the alerm is on

 

All the symptoms you describe can also be attributed to low voltage from the battery. Have it load tested and charged and if it tests good then look for whatever is draining the battery.
