Hello fuse 9 on my security sounder blows as soon as I put it in the fusebox ignition on or off any ideas and would this stop the car starting as I have that issue as well any help appreciated thanks

 

My understanding is that for cars made for outside of the US market, the security sounder has built-in rechargeable batteries. These battery deteriorates over time, leak and corrode the circuit board. You will have to use your search skills, but this forum has pictures of this sad state of affairs. Best is to locate the unit and open the shell for examination. It is possibly fixable, to a point. I'll leave it to other members that have dealt with this to confirm if the US model without a battery is a suitable replacement.

FWIW, I have never been too clear as to the ultimate purpose of this battery. The obvious idea is that the car alarm could sound even if the main battery or fuse is somehow tampered with by a thief, but the other thought is possibly a reserve voltage during replacement of the main battery to avoid tripping the security code in the radio (another non-US feature).

Ok thankyou someone has kindly taken the fuse out and there car started so must be something else will keep trying
