Seeking suggestions / tips while removing Supercharger
Howdy folks,
I am going to remove my supercharger / intercooler primarily in order to explore / replace hoses and gaskets for deterioration and leaks. While I am at it, I would hate to close it all back up only to learn that I did not do something that I should have added to my list.
So far, that list includes:
).
Thanks Folks

So far, that list includes:
- Replace knock sensors
- Pull and force clean fuel injectors (although, I have not come along anything that suggested to do this)
- Check bypass valve / servo operation
- Although I am not planning to increase boost; I am replacing the intercooler pump with Bosch 0 392 022 010 from Home Depot (not a counterfeit). Also MB modified pigtail plug
- Check SC bearings
).Thanks Folks
It is a 2002 4.0L XKR conv.(Sorry, I did not think about my signature line not showing on smartphones)
I will definitely replace those valley hoses.
Just seeing your reply jogged my mind of a suggestion that you made years ago to wait till one does this project such as I am doing replace my plumbing stop leak hack (P0171, P0174) with a new proper Part Load Breather Hose Assy AJ84879
Thanks for all of your expertise
I post this query because the 2002 MY is sometimes a 2002.5 4.2 depending on location and MY designation differences.(Europe MY confusion)
There is still a hose under the 4.2 that needs to be addressed.

I did mine last year. I would recommend replacing both fuel rail dampers. Common leak point. Mine was leaking (the cause of my repair). I sent all of my injectors to a company called Injector Planet (Florida). They cleaned them, flow tested, replaced the O-rings, and supplied the fuel dampers for $50 each. The injectors and dampers are Ford parts. I also replaced the valley hoses and the octopus hose. Note: you do not have to replace the octopus has while the supercharger is off. After the fact, you can get to it all if necessary later when the supercharger is on. Also change the supercharger fluid while it is off. Much easier than when it is in place. I also replaced both serpentine belts, water pump, and stat. Reassembly hint. When installing the coolant crossover on the front of the engine, replace the spring clamp for a screw style on the 3/4 valley hose. It will make install and tightening somewhat easier from the top. You can thank me latter.
