This is very interesting, given that only the mineral and polyalphaolefin synthetics are included:

While mineral base oils and polyalphaolefins (PAO) have good hydrolytic stability, several types of synthetics are prone to reacting with water, which forms corrosive acids.
It has implications for engines used primarily for short trips where full warmup is not achieved.
