Well, I finally replaced my front upper shock mounts, and the shocks, and the upper wishbone bushings. I had the parts sitting around for a couple of years - because things weren't really that bad. I used the Welsh poly shock mounts and Welsh upper wishbone bushings and I got Bilstein shocks (dampers) from Rock Auto. I wish I had gone ahead and did the stabilizer (sway) bar drop links as well, but that's a pretty minor job. I just want to thank the forum for all the info, especially the info about the washers and spacers for the left and right sides, and the info on spring compressors. I had some spring compressors that I thought would work, but ended up going out to Autozone and borrowing some heavy-duty ones, and this was a big help and didn't cost me anything (that's a deal). So, with all the talk about the Welsh shock mounts, I guess I'll see what happens. So far, so good. The Jag tracks great and feels rock solid. The first one was a learning experience, of course, but the second one went pretty smooth. Shout out to the forum !

 

Well done. Keep us posted on how the Welsh components hold up for you. Perhaps because yours were purchased a couple of years ago, they will not experience the early failures that are now popping up from more recent installs....
