Default Silverstone exterior part

Hi,
New here. I am looking to purchase a set of the plastic fender lips / extensions found on the rear wheel arch of the Silverstone editions. Any leads on where to find a set or is this likely a dealer-only item? Has anyone retrofit them to their XK?

I attached an image for reference.

These were standard, I believe, on all XKR. I don't know where in LA you are but I expect that any local Jaguar dealer should be able to order these. Another good source is "Jaguar Parts" - Jaguar parts and accessories catalog and you might be able to find the part number from their website.

Good luck.

The lips are rubber on my 2005 and held on to the wheelarch with spring clips. Were the Silverstone ones rigid plastic?

Can't turn up a dealer cost on these but I do recall seeing it before and thinking - HOW MUCH!!!!

I was not familiar with these before this thread. Are they part of a wet weather pack or something like that?

Gaudin has a part called a "Mud Guard" under:
Body Panel / Quarter Panel / Exterior Trim

It is $36 each side but only listed for the 2002 XKR-100 and newer.

The 'lips' are fitted to the rear wheel arches of vehicles with 20 inch wheels to comply with the UK Reg that the top of the arch must cover the wheel - I'd expect US has a similar requirement?

The 'mud guard' listed by Gaudin could be the optional Mud Flap? Cost sounds about right.

Interesting.

I am not aware of a similar regulation in the US and don't believe I have ever seen such a set of "lips" on any US XK.

Yes the U.S. spec was the same. The part numbers are:
RH Quarter Moulding: HJE4590AA
LH Quarter Moulding: HJE4591AA
These are currently listed on Gaudin Jaguar online for $ 46.31 ea.
The spring clips are: HXD6056BA superseded by XR824713 which are listed at $ 1.79 ea. Note: It claims 4 are required per side but it appears Graham's pic shows 6!

Many thanks! I am going to purchase a set; they are actually going be retrofit (and likely massaged) to my wife's db7 which as you know, is very close in many respects to the xk. I've always liked the look of these but they have been elusive until now...although I did see them applied the new xkr-s while visiting the dealer admiring it. Really appreciate the part numbers too!

They first came on the Silverstone edition It was the first XKR fitted with 20" wheels and tires. I believe when you ordered a new XK with the 20" wheel and tire option they came with the car.

No they are just like yours a softer rubber, attached with clips.

My car only had four from the factory. they may have added a couple later on with age the rubber has a tendency to distort a slight bit.

I believe there is some similar requirement in the US. When the C4 Corvette came out with the Grand Sport model, the rear tires were something like 315 versus the 285 standard size. The larger tires protruded a bit past the wheel arches so GM added a tack-on "lip". Those lips ended up being highly sought after even by folks with the standard model.

I can confirm there's six clips on each of mine.

The lips themselves are much lower cost than I expected from hearing something quoted around double that figure last year.

I like the appearance and they are especially suitable for anyone who has fitted wheel spacers. It's another of those extras like mud flaps that's down to personal preference.

They are so subtle that they are hardly noticeable. I recall when I first started shopping around for an XK8 or XKR, the first time I actually noticed these was when I was looking at a white XKR. Even then they don't exactly jump out at you but I thought they were a nice subtle touch.

This is the info that I was looking for. I just now ordered a set of these bad-boys and will mount them onto the XKR when the new tires and 20" Perseus wheels go on in about a week and a half. I like the way that these look with the wide rear wheels. I've seen them on a 2006 XKR for sale at the local dealership with the same Perseus wheels that I've got. Cool!
