If your xk8/xkr is not your primary source of transportation (in other words if there is another car in your name) and you have a garage classic car companies will insure your Jag very cheaply under their 'exotic" class. I use Haggerty Insurance and my premium for the year is $475.00. This is complete comprehensive coverage with an agreed value of $18K. They do not have a mileage limit. Hope this helps.

A good reminder...but there are some irritating exceptions. My 1997 coupe is not my primary, every day car...we have two others to serve that purpose. However, my daily driver is a 1997 Honda, and Hagerty wouldn't insure the Jag because the Honda was "too old" and they thought I'd be driving the Jag when the Honda broke down!

Imagine that...the Honda is absolutely bullet-proof. Unlike my beloved coupe.

Pretty much the same thing here, specialty underwriters tell me the same. My '98 Continental is the same age as the Jag. However, through State Farm, full coverage on the Jag is cheaper than liability only on the Lincoln. It's around $63/mo for both of them.

Just talked with Haggerty Ins. Calif & Mass, are the only two states with Exotic classifications for insurance. However, I will be switching over to Haggerty Ins., as well.
The quoted me $635.00 for a full 12 mths coverage, for my 2003 XKR Convertible, $24,000 value. That beats Progressive by almost $300/yr. I don't know where Ridge NY is, but I owe Lorwood a drink if he gets to my part of NY. Thanks

Glad to help. Maintenance is high enough and the cost of premium fuel promises to be through the roof this summer so we need to save where we can!
