Default Source for valley hoses.

Just got an email from SNG Barratt saying that they could not supply valley hoses for my car because " the part is not available for order". I am assuming that means that they are out of production.

Does anybody know an alternate source?

I don't care if it's US or UK because I am about 1/2 way between the 2 I came across a company making heavy duty silicone based hoses for XK8s once upon a time but can seem to find them now.

Appreciate any and all suggestions and advice

Heritage is showing both available:
https://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/uk/part/NNE3946CA
https://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/uk/part/NCA3945CD

edit: later feed hose (from VIN A30465) shows different part #:
https://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/uk/part/AJ86326

Their prices are around the same as the dealer, if you have one nearby.

Barry, I just replaced everything from the valley hoses through to all the heater hoses to the aux. heater pump as I had a major leak and given that my car is 20 years old and you don't want to take the intake off and remove the throttle body any more often than necessary I decided to do all of those hoses at the same time. Give me a day and I'll give you a list of everyone of them with price and supplier...... but check to see what may be different between a '99 4.0 and the '04 4.2.

Default The list of hoses & suppliers for them I used for my '99

Following is a list of heater and coolant hoses I used on the 1999 XK8 4.0 naturally aspirated when I had a serious leak in one of the valley hoses. Given that the car is 20 years old and the job really requires removing the intake manifold and the throttle body I decided to replace everything while the tech had it all apart so you may not need or want all of these parts.

I used the various schematics from SNG but did find one error. They have 4 different sections dealing with the 1996-2006 XK8’s and 3 of them cover some version of the ’99 model year so be warned as there are differences. The parts listed below come from the section on 1999-2002 and were correct for my car but I didn’t find that out until I ordered 2 smaller hoses from the section listed as 1996-1999 Canada/USA that turned out to NOT fit my 1999 US spec’d car.

When my usual sources came up empty I just goggled the part # I had and turned up the few that were left.

Throttle Body gaskets (8) Part# AJ83356 SNG Barratt……………………$1.36@

Valley Hose #1 Part# NNE3946CA Rock Auto………………………………$8.09

Valley Hose #2 Part# NCA3945CD Rock Auto………………………………$8.59

Various heater hoses

Part# MJB6720AC Rock Auto…………………………………………………………$4.39

Part# MJA6721AG Rock Auto………………………………………………………….$22.79

Part# NNE3946CA Rock Auto…………………………………………………………..$8.11

Part# NCA3945CD Rock Auto…………………………………………………………..$8.61

Part# MJB6720AC Rock Auto…………………………………………………………..$4.39

Part# AJ83970 Partsgeek.com……………………………………………………$7.73

Part# NNE3976CA Partsgeek.com……………………………………………………$9.73

Part# MJA6728AC Autoplicity.com (Eurospare)……………………………….$131.11 (A major octopus hose!)

Part# MJA6739AC Pepauto (eBay)……………………………………………………$56.36

Regardless of whether or not you’re doing the work or having a shop do it the labor involved is essentially the same since the throttle body and intake manifold are coming off even if all you do is the two valley hoses. Once they’re off all the other smaller hoses are uncovered and having to go back in to reach them at some later date when one of the other equally old and weakened hoses lets go will mean taking it all apart again so you’d end up doing most of the same job all over again to replace.

Robert,
Very helpful list. I, and likely lots of other XK8 owners, appreciate it.

Default Hope this helps identify

Marvin I would suggest that since Jag and others often make running changes during a model year as reports come back to them of problem areas that need correcting that you do your best to figure where in the model year your car was actually built. While not exact you might figure that if it was built nearer the end of a model year as opposed to the start that it might well have more in common with the next model year rather than the previous model year.

The two hoses that were different on my '99 were labeled as the "heater elbow hose" and the "heater hose" and were respectively URO # NCC3948AA and NCA3947AD and if you look at the list of the parts I used you'll see they aren't listed.

I'll post pictures of the two hoses that weren't correct for my car so if you get to see what you'll need BEFORE having to order you'll perhaps be able to see the difference between what your car has and what I incorrectly ordered.

NCA3947AD Heater Hose

NCC3948AA Heater Elbow Hose

I ordered these not realizing that my car (serial # C036538) had been built using these hoses listed in the 1999-2006.
