Speaker replacement 1998 XK8 base convertible -standard audio

I researched all I could find on net and forum here. Just have a few ? left.

1. Do the door panels really have to come off? Can't I use a speaker puller and just get the covers off and replace front door speakers?

2. Fronts are 6.5" right? My stereo guy is trying to tell me they are 5.25"

He says 6x9" will work for rears. I see most use the same 6.5".

3. Here is my choice. :

Kicker 10CVT 65. 4 ohms. Rears. I found on Amazon for $60 ea

Kicker KS6.2 Fronts. About $40 / pair.

But .......
If the 10CVT 65. Will work in front doors I'd rather use them. Just better speakers.
Will they fit??

I know this horse has been beat hard. But before I order the speakers , I want to be certain. Also if anyone has a better recommendation let me know
