Sport package
Hi
Can anyone tell me, what came with the sport package on 4.2 XKRs?
Was it just wheels and brakes?
Could you order just 20" wheels and nothing else?
Could anyone tell me how to tel the difference bewteen the different brake options on the 4.2 cars? I think I've seen 3 different types, red calipers, silver calipers with 'Jaguar' in green stickers on them and just unpainted alloy...
Thanks in advance

Thanks Mountaincat...
The car I'm looking at is an 04, has the factory 20" wheels and silver Brembo calipers. But I don't have a full as built spec on the car.
I do have the VIN, and the initial dealership that sold the car, but not sure what they would say if I phoned em to ask about the build spec / history of the car. I'm thinking they probably would not want to talk to me...
I've read on here that some people have had no success phoning Jaguar direct for data on VINs...

Yes, you could order just 20'' wheels. Many XK8's came with 20'' wheels.
Brake wise, you have standard brakes (unpainted alloy), brembos (silver with green decal) and red brembos (same exact setup, just painted red for XKR's. You can even paint them yourself/ get them powdercoated if you'd like). If you ordered brembos, then you needed 20'' wheels to clear the bigger sized calipers. Most newer XKR's have brembos and 20's since brembos started being standard on the XKR around the switch to the 4.2l (My 02 XKR coupe still has the regular brake calipers and 18's, for example). From what I heard there isn't a noticeable difference in braking between the setups, the standard ones are quite good and cheaper to maintain, but if you can find a brembo car go for it!
Recaro sport seats on some XKR's is a rare option.
GPS nav vs. standard instrument gauges was also an option. Some prefer the gauges, I still find the nav useful despite old map software.
HID's was an option on the early 2000's but became standard later.
Other than that, nothing really stands out options wise, at least that I can think of. It's really just the wheels and brembos that are a plus on older XK's, but standard on all later models anyways!
