Default stalled

on journey and got stuck behind a lorry and nowhere to pass as my wife was with me going slow 30-40mph for about 15 min.then no response on pedal, engine stalled, pulled over, all dash lights on,turn key, starts and i pull away as if nothing had happened,i then put it in sports mode and drop the gears down and give it some wellie does not repeat for the last 15 miles home i usually drive a bit more aggressive than this,so is that the cause,or is there something i should worry about, there were no codes or anything on the dash

Something should be stored when the engine stalls, if nothing else I would expect there to be a freeze frame from the event.

Have you tried using a code reader to check if there are any stored or pending codes or data?

No codes at all?

You must have at least P1000 (OnBoard tests not complete since last memory clear) or P1111 (OnBoard test complete).

Well, as Graham says, if you're not seeing a P1000/P1111 it ain't working.
Is it telling you it has connected?

If there's just the P1111 then no other codes are set.
Simple answer - replace wife with code reader on future journeys then if it happens again you'll see a code come up.

Please post full details of this trade-in deal for a code reader.

Haven't you got AutoEnginuity ?
Wife on Eurostar, please meet at station.
You've got my address for the carrier.
OP's wife will simply have to cradle the scanner in a loving and attentive way at all times then.

Seriously if there are no stored codes I'd put it down to 'one of them things', keep your reader in the car and not worry.
Let us know if you have another wobbler.

+1. See if it happens again. Even the best designed electronics could be occasionally susceptible to soft errors from electromagnetic interference, atmospheric radiation and other random occurances.

I have had a MB C320 since new for 11 years. Once, at about 30K miles the electronics went totally bonkers, all dash lights and warnings flashing, car about to stall. I now have 140K on it and that had never recurred.

I had a non-Jaguar stopped in its tracks by something the Royal Radar Establishment were doing. Driving past their place it stopped dead and sat with the door locks cycling on and off every two seconds.
Most weird and uncanny.
I'm surprised modern cars don't get glitches more frequently.
