Exclamation Stalling issues-XK8 Coupe

Had an odd issue yesterday, my 97 Xk8 coupe stalled after a quick drive up to freeway speed; from a cold start, (approx 70 MPH) this is the first time it happened. The throttle body has been cleaned (last month), it it was replaced with a new unit within the last 3 years. How long do these last?

Today I drove the car about 100 miles (stop and go), no issues. It seems like this is a common issue for this car to stall, kinda scary. Or do I just ignore this as a one-time issue?

Any suggestions or help...???

Car is driving-running terrific otherwise. Drove it over 2k miles in last month, no issues.

Your XK might fall inbetween the time when the ECU needed a reflash, I cant remember the VINs off my head, but this was a TSB some years ago, call a dealer to check any warranty work that has been done as to whether or not it has had the reflash

Thanks for the info, the car has run perfectly, no issues at all. Ive had to run from San Diego to LAX about 4 round trips, runs cool, fast and smooth. Been avg about 22.5 mpg, is this about par?

Has not stalled since that day, prior to stall car had sat for several days, maybe that is an issue?

Did you have any codes or faults on the console? Did you have your cruise control on at the time?

The random stalling issue can happen months apart, you need to find someone who has a WDS (Jaguar diagnostic system) get them to check what software your ECU has, if its HA that is the first/original system, you will need HC uploaded

22.5 mpg sounds in the ballpark to me, but that doesn't give a clue to the stalling issue.

The Throttle body is factory new, but 3 years old, I did replace all plugs with Bosch +2's, and replace two marginal ignition coils. It really runs nice now. Much improved.

I will need to go to the Jaguar dealer and see if they will update ecu.

Air flow meter is new, less than 1 year old. The people i bought this cat from spent $9k in last 3 years. Car has every service record from new, I will need to search through and see what issue have been resolved.
