Default Stalling problem

I've been having intermittent problems for several months. My '02 XK8 will be running fine and all of a sudden I'll feel a lurch (bump) and the "Transmission fault" message appears in window. The last time this happened the engine stopped and everything (power brakes, steering etc.) shuts off. Let it set for a few minutes and it starts right up (message goes away). Suspect a loose electrical connection but have not been able to locate. Are there any other potential issues that could cause this problem? Any places to look for loose connection?

Check the battery cables first. There have been reports of corrosion at the crimp. Then work forward to the two big fuses and clean those connections. The bulkhead connections in the engine compartment can corrode, and the ground strap at the back of the bellhousing right side to the frame should be cleaned and tightened.

It's a good idea to leave the neg. batt. cable discinnected while you go around taking the other connections apart.

Check the OBDII codes and post the codes.

Default Problem fixed?

Found and replaced heavily corroded ground off bell housing. Hoping this will do the trick. There was one code, P111, I'm thinking this is left over from a sticking throttle from a couple of months back..

Use this link for your OBDII codes and read the P1111 code
