I have 1998 XK8 Coupe. I am trying to replace bulb on radio which illuminates the CD/AM-FM/Phone switch on bottom left of radio fascia. However, I am unable to remove the fascia plate due to the volume knob. It is held on with tabs, both top and bottom, which unclip easily but will not come out unless volume knob is removed. I am trying not to break anything and tugged on it thinking it may simply come off by pulling it out, however I don't want to use too much force if there is a clip or pin holding it in. I didn't see anything in JTIS or forum. Is there an way to remove this knob?

Thanks

Well the knob for a 97 (slightly dif radio head) just pry's off with a nylon trim remover BUT I spent part of yesterday trying to figure out how to replace bulbs on my parts car unit before taking apart the one that works and have no idea how to get to the bulbs. The facia plate comes off with tabs but leaves you wtih no access. I posted the question and no one has answered it yet

it does simply pull off, however you may need wide jaw pliers and very slight jiggle motion while pulling, it can take some real effort.
