Default Stuck front offside Abs Speed Sensor 2001 coupe.

Hi, have recently had the usual abs/ traction fault indications permanently on, 2001 Xk8 coupe (uk).

I have now managed to clear the fault by replacing the front nearside abs speed sensor with a used unit (Lja2266aa) and by cleaning the offside abs speed sensor in situ!

Unfortunately the offside front speed sensor appears to be stuck/melted in and I am concerned that if I apply to much pressure it will break! As I wish to clean it properly.

Has anyone successfully managed to remove a stuck/ melted abs speed sensor without damaging it for re-use, as it is not broken!

Any ideas/ tricks without a major dismantle.

Thanks
Rob

I had the same problem with mine. I ended up beating the crap out of it, stabbing it with a screwdriver, drilling it, etc.

Afterwards I bored out the hole again using a (13mm? ) socket attachment for my drill so the new one would go in.

There is good reason to believe that when we clean the sensors, it's really the cleaning and re-seating of the electrical contacts that matters.

Given that, you might consider just going with your cleaning the sensor in situ rather than possibly destroying it to get it out.
