Is a sunroof an option on an XK8? I have never seen one with a sunroof and there is no mention of any in literature etc. Take a look at this car now advertised on ebay. If you look close you will see a sunroof. I suspect an aftermarket unit. Has anyone ever done a sunroof install?

That looks like an aftermarket tilting glass sunroof. These were popular in the UK many years ago but prone to leaking and rarely seen nowadays. They would only tilt like the XK8 photos on eBay or lift out completely. The 'glass' was often tinted perspex.

Not the equivalent of the tilt and slide metal sunroof available for the Jaguar saloons. I had one of these in an XJ40 and it was very good.

The Jaguar ones are bulky and reduce headroom by at least an inch. Not a problem for most people in the saloons but likely to be so for many in the Coupe. A.f.a.i.k they have never offered it for the XK8 - probably for this reason.

I saw this on eBay as well and after looking for a while figured it was an aftermarket unit.

I believe Webasto supplies many OE sun/moon roofs and has some for aftermarket installation. Not your typical tilt/pop DIY sunroofs, plan on pro install and a fair bag-o-$. In fact, if you have huge desires they can probably engineer and supply a retractable hard top for you. Plan on submitting a slighty larger bag-o-$$$.
