No, it's a waste of money. If you do a search you should find some old threads discussing that. If it worked many of the members would have one.

That kit is garbage. It is essentially an inline furnace blower. The only way is to get a real supercharger, from an XKR, or from some other company with twin rotor chargers. If you investigate the prices, your best chance is to find a complete supercharged engine, and be able to remove all the mechanical ancillary components. You will need to keep your stock electrics, and rely on the stock supercharger pressure bleed off, and your stock knock sensors. You will also need to run at least 93 octane gas, with an octane booster added, because your car has a higher compression ratio, than a Jaguar supercharged engine. A supercharged engine has a compression ratio of just 9 to 1, while your unsupercharged engine has a compression ratio of 10.75 to 1. The easiest way to do it is just swapping mechanicals, but you should seriously think if a project with this many logistics, is worth 80 more HP, and probably a number of blown transmissions, after it is completed. The Mercedes transmission that the supercharged cars use is strong enough to handle the extra torque. Our transmissions are not able to handle it. I myself was thinking of making an electric turbocharger, from a diesel truck turbo. The problem was, that the best 12 volt electric motor would only spin at 3900 rpm, and the trucks turbo, in order to produce any usable pressure, would need to spin at nearly 10 times that. If you want a supercharged XKR, you will need to save up, and sell your XK8, to afford a car who's drivetrain can handle the extra torque.......Sorry for the glum outlook, but this is the conclusion I came to, when thinking about doing the same thing to mine......Be cool......Mike
