Hello.

The top on my XK8 is badly stained and I'm looking to replace it. I'm looking for pictures of a blue XK with a tan top as well as any opinions.

I'm not sure how the top would look over an ivory interior though.

EDIT: I suppose the top would sorta match the sable accents, which my car happens to have more of (full leather steering wheel and sable arm rest).

 

I can't believe I can't find a good photo of my XK8. But I love the tan top. Believe it or not, my half-sister has a blue XK8 too, only hers is a couple of years older than mine and she has a dark blue top. Of course, I think mine looks so much better - but I never tell her that. Mine is Pacific blue, not sure what the color of the top is called.

 

Is the top in good condition otherwise? Replacing the top won't be cheap so I wonder if you all could dye the top...

And I am not a fan of colored convertible tops... black is it for me (or maybe white like on my old 1969 442 convertible).

 

The top has a massive oil stain from an idiotic transport company who refused to pay to repair it. It's unfortunate but the rest of the car is nearly perfect, and the headliner isn't in the greatest shape anyway.

Jaguar wax lyrical with body colour names but are much more prosaic with the convertible top - it's BEIGE and your sister's is BLUE!



I had a Pacific Blue 2001 XK8 and often wondered if the Pacific looks anything like that. I had a Solent Blue XJ40 and it looked nothing like the water of the Solent between England and the Isle of Wight.
