Default Tensioners

I was wondering whether it is possible to check what type of tensioner is fitted to my engine via an inspection camera through the oil filler cap. The car was first registered in may 2002, but, i believe it is MY2001.I never got much history with the car so am unsure as to whether it is fitted with the metal tensioners or not. There is no problem with the engine it has just passed 100 thousand miles and i was curious to see without removing the rocker covers. Many thanks. Anthony.

My specialist is going to use an endoscope type camera to see examine my tensioners. Sorry just saw you said without removing the rocker covers. He will be removing them and then use the camera to look deeper.

Engine SN 0108130000 onward is supposed to have the updated timing components.
Look at the engine number on the side of the block!
