I picked this up recently just because I don't want any wires to mess with everytime I want to listen to mp3's. Haven't had time to install yet.

Not knocking it and of the options available, this may be the one I go with.
Yeah no 'smarts', just audio. It's not going to scroll the title and artist across the screen or anything. The only thing my headunit is used for now is as an amplifier with a volume knob and handy steering wheel volume buttons.

Nice you got it going.

To me, nothing sound better, than a digital MP3 data disk, going inside a ALPINE CD/MP3 CHANGER, through a ALPINE digital equalizer/synthesizer to an ALPINE amp and ALPINE speakers, and BOSE TWEETERS

Ive tried all the setups, ALPINE is where its at.Even if it takes a year, save a grand and get what I got.

I have a very old school dad, and when he got that experience, he asked to keep my car for 2 days, while I drive his Infinity-sucked, but I let him.

I find that the FM transmitters are not so good. It may have changed but the one I did have stated that the output volume was limited because of restrictions on the bandwidth it could use. Plus it seemed to be subject to external interference.

With that said, I did also have a device that sat inline of the antenna. Because that was not actually transmitting, it had great sound and no interference. I believe there's one available which comes with a bluetooth interface or you can buy the parts separately.

FM transmitters are as appealing as ordering the turkey gizzard instead of the turkey sandwich.

Direct connect or nothing. Ok maybe Bluetooth.

+1 on the JAG-CDR - works great and with an ipod to aux adapter cable, I can use my sirius receiver without the tape adapter and still maintain use of the cd changer

Not wireless; inline direct with antenna cable. No interference. Sorry if already mentioned. Real easy install.

The antenna option has the advantage that you don't have to run a wire all the way through the cabin. But bluetooth gets around that. I like the idea of being able to switch the changer back in if needed but not sure if it's worth the extra money. I may just buy the $50 one with the 3.5mm and prod it with my soldering iron and add a switch. Then add a bluetooth module. I bet I can get power for the bluetooth module from the box too.

This cable replaces your CD changer and instead gives you a 3.5mm jack that you can place wherever you want.

Amazon.com: Alpine Ai-net or JVC Jlink to 3.5mm Aux Input Cable Headphone Jack Ainet: Electronics Amazon.com: Alpine Ai-net or JVC Jlink to 3.5mm Aux Input Cable Headphone Jack Ainet: Electronics

That is the El cheapo route but with a little research I'm sure you could find a high quality one.
