Hey Lads,

I am going to build my own aluminum air tube for the intake out of parts sourced on line. What I need to be sure about at the moment is the outside diameter of the throttle body inlet.

What I have read is someone saying the ID of the TB is 3 inches so can someone confirm that? I have read elsewhere that the OD is 3" so I want to be certain.

I'm sure the other 188 members who have Viewed your question must also be thinking - why not just measure it .....?

I understand Bernie's question....often when I measure something , my result is not the same as what it actually is or I may not have the best tool to do it.

All that being said. I don't know the answer.

Will the air intake pipe from another model Jaguar without the resonator type of box fit an XJ8, maybe from an S Type?? They look & fit so much better with out the resonator in the way of things. My 07 VDP has one on it, and it looks better than the monstrosity on my 04 XJ8, a nicer cleaner look. It was on when the car when purchased, so don't know what it's off of. Passed Echeck, so i want one for the 04, as the old one on it could be in better shape.
