Was going to purchase the red hoses for my XK8 to give the engine bay some umph but had a crazy idea to paint the plastic covers red instead!! Used the new fusion plastic paint and cleaned them like crazy first and they match the calipers perfectly!! Then after 3/4 bottle of champers, I took brush in hand and painted the letters black!! I think they look amazing!! I've got a couple 03 xj6 grille growlers on the way to give a bit of bling.
Now to remove the two side engine covers and paint red, maybe the shock mount covers and I'm done!!
Concours Special division, here I come!!

Looks great, and good luck in your division!

But let's face it... you are never done.

+1 and amen.

You know you can buy colored hoses, right? Bright red silicon hoses? Too much?

Yes, but I've decided to do more on my own without buying parts. I think sometimes a little ingenuity, a can of paint, and some carefully chosen badges can impress more than buying a pre made part!
The car I've been warned of being my main competition has relied on bought components and prefab pieces so I'm going for the do it yourself route!! It took much longer to hand paint the letters than to install some colored hoses!! Lol.

Looks like you've got the first British 'Testa Rosa' in NC. Kinda fun. Nice job.
