Default Time gentlemen please?

Good morning guy's, I have a friend who also has an XK8 and he is having similar problems to me in that his car is having a bit of a bump going into R. He has had the car checked over and tells me he has the codes from the OBD11 printout and will email them to me over the weekend. I was hoping some of you guy's could help out with what his codes mean please.
Also was just wondering if anyone could let me know if its on JTIS ( or has knowledge of ) how long Jaguar specify for changing an auto gearbox in the X100's, in case mine is " goosed " I may be forced into getting a second hand one. I have a friend who charges £39/hr garage rates would do it for me. At that rate if it could be exchanged in say 5 hours it would be worth it at £200. For that matter, anyone any idea how long it would take to change the secondary tensioners using the zip anchor method, he might as well do that at the same time. I am a little bit reluctant to try this myself as I have a condition known as " vibration White Finger " and am concerned if I sustain an attack while in the guts of the engine I may drop something inside and sc**w it all up.
Many thanks for any advice on the above.
Kind regards,
ArtyH

At least I can comment on the tensioner replacement. It took me 4 hours to replace mine which I think is the 'book' time. While an experienced hobby mechanic that was my first time to work on the Jaguar engine and I was cleaning while doing the change.

I would suggest that an experienced tech could do the work in half that time but still charge the 'book' hours.

Thanks for taking the time to help out test point. The guys who I would take the car to are trusted friends, so not really bothered about how much, it was just to give them an idea time wise. I'm sure they will do it as reasonable as possible. Thanks again for the input.

Would I be correct in thinking the box could be changed in a shift ( day ) as a worst case scenario ? Just trying to budget for the jobs.

Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Regards,

ArtyH

A day is reasonable in my view. If I had a lift and air tools, I could switch it out in half a day.
