timing chain tensioner change
Hello all,
I have just changed my tensioners to the updated metal ones and used a kit with the metal backed chaln guides.....I have noticed that the timing chains are rather tight at this point....I can barely get 1/2" of the wedge under the tensioner and blade to lock the cam sprockets in place.....in fact when I put tension on the exhaust cam gear to take up the slack in the system the main chain didn't move...it was already tight. Is this of some concern? I have rotated the engine by hand and everything moves and nothing is hitting, so its timed correctly. I did notice that the blades I used from the kit are twice the thickness of the original OEM ones.....of which I have a set....not sure if its ok to carry on. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
