Hi Wojo,
Just found your reply. Thanks. I have not done much more with the top since my last post. But I have always suspected the yellow solenoid since the fuse does not blow if I unplug the yellow one. I must admit I don't quite understand the operation of the solenoid in this application, but have wondered if the solenoid could be jamming the pump or have a short of its own. Do you know if removing the solenoid for inspection is wise?

You have 2 relays for the pump motor up and down controlled by the security module. When it sends a signal to the relays that are being protected by a 5 amp fuse it sends power to the pump to operate and it is protected by a 40amp fuse. The latch and main control valve is controlled by the security module.

This is a link to wiring diagram for 2003 and fig 5.2 is what you want to look at.

by disconnecting the battery to reset the computer will this do any harm to my jagxk8

Thanks, although the schematic is Fig. 15.2.
