Default Tranny issues, what next?

Hello one and all, ok the car has been good for a while, now the trans went on the fritz. I was on my way to work, stopped to get coffee, restarted the car, dropped it in gear and nothing, then clunk, tranny warning light goes on along with the check engine, it only goes into reverse, and fifth. limped home, put the obd on it and got codes, p1111 and p1722. reset the check engine light but the trans still wont shift up or down.
Any suggestions for a fix? Running lean on money and hope i don't have to replace the trans.

It is probably A drum failure. There are many threads discussing options, just use the search function.

The "A" drum holds a set of friction disc and plates. This drum is prone to failure in the xk8s and xj8s. One of the ways to tell if it is the A drum is by removing the pan of the transmission and look for metal fragments.

well looks like i need a second car, thanks for the info, Bob, you seem to have a couple of donor cars, any chance you have a driver seat computer (that box under the seat that makes it move) and a drivers side window switch?

No window switch. Might have a module for the seat. Need to know year of the car and the part # on the module. PM me with your response. We are not to sell items on this forum.
