transplanting the new engine 5.0 supercharger on our XKR 4.2 x100
I have been wondering the same thing as used 5.0 SCs are relatively cheap.
My questions are: What about charge cooler to SC connections?
Pulley line up?
SC bypass relocation?
Breather pipe connections?
Air intake connection?
EGR connection and electrical control?
Throttle body location with no elbow?
I do not think these things are insurmountable but how difficult to actually do? The last
2 on my list above seem to be the most difficult?

Engine is easily 7500 euro over here (you want a good on to start with right?, maybe also a new gearbox?), but the costs are not in the 2nd hand engine, unless you are able to fabricate lots of parts yourself, let alone get the electrics going by yourself as this a completely different type of engine.
It would be so much cheaper to bore out/stroke a 4.2 engine, but as said all depends on the budget you have though, as there is no cheap thing here...

probably the electrical system problem is the hard part. who knows if in the future a professional mechanic engages in this venture in order to then explain to all of us if this is possible and how!
Probably easiest would be to use the 5.0 SC ECU with 8 Speed transmission, and ditch the cars electronics (ie instrument cluster, gear selector etc). There are many more (cheaper) ways to get your hp target, anyway, who knows what the future brings of course, but why waste the time?
Disclaimer: I have no direct experience with this. My car is the way it came from Jaguar.
You might want to look into the Jaguar Specialties LS conversion for an approach. The short version is that you need to consider transplanting the engine, transmission, harness and associated electronics as one unit as they are meant to tightly work together.
Then you need to work on all the mechanical aspects (engine and transmission mount points, clearances, driveshaft, fuel supply, cooling, etc.).
Last, you will need to somehow make the rest of the car electronics work with the transplanted electronics. Even if both the old and new electronics communicate mainly over CAN, it is likely you will need some form of bridge/translator so that messages can flow between the new and old modules, and meet all expectations on both sides. I believe Jaguar Specialties developed and now sells such a box, but for the GM ECU on one side and the older 4.0 XK8 body on the other (i.e. useless to this conversion). I believed it required ad-hoc reverse engineering, not something entirely easy. Also, JS sells a detailed conversion manual for mechanics. This might contain enough information for you to find out what you are getting into. My sense is that finding "cheap" donor parts is the least of your problems, but it seems like a fascinating challenge.

I've driven an XFR with the same 5.0SC and was quite underwhelmed by the performance of it stock. You can make the same or more power with on the 4.2 with a twin screw conversion for a fraction of the price of an engine swap.
AJ133 swap into X100 body and connecting modern engine with prehistoric transmission, steering, suspension and brakes of X100? Pure waste of time and money, IMHO.
If you want to complicate things, go to twin screw. Even stock 400 HP is more than poor suspension can handle if driven really hard on twisted roads.

mine was just an idea in order to understand the level of difficulty. I often read others members of this forum that have put the supercharger on aspirated XK8 ... or others who put the engine on 4.0 versions 4.2, or transplantation of manual transmissions in place of the automatic transmission.
All these members of the forum have made a great effort (both economic and time) to accomplish something even it was enough easy to buy the latest version or buy the model with the supercharger and the game was done!
but I do not I never asked "why do it?". but I appreciated their efforts and we must be grateful to them all for letting us see that this is possible.
I probably do not have sufficient capacity to be able to do this transplant. But surely it would be a fascinating challenge!

I was thinking about using a 5.0L engine for a higher HP engine build versus the 4.2 as the baseline. After a few messages with Count Iblis, decided that sticking with the 4.2 will give me a stronger engine for a 700+HP. On the plus side, one doesn't have to deal with the 5.0L's oil pressure driven inlet VVT tappets/lifters.
