Default trunk release

My trunk release will not work using the decklid button. The key will mechanically open the trunk, as will the dash mounted electric switch. Trunk lights go out when I push the latch mechanism with a tool. A simple test of the decklid pushbutton switch indicated a properly working switch. The ground is good at the decklid. I guess my next stop is at the security module? Have any of you resolved the same issue? Thanks in advance!

Ok. I had a few minutes to remove that harness, and cut it open to have a look. Sure enough... one of the wires was completely separated. A second wire looked suspicious, so I cut it apart at the "bump", slid some heat shrink over the wires, and soldered both. I wrapped it all back up, and will install it tomorrow! Thanks VERY much for the tip! Incidently, I called my Jag parts dealer to see if they even had a harness, and they said they couldn't find the part number. Told me to just repair it. I see the number is right on the harness tag:"LJG3085AB" for my 2004. I thought it might be $25 or so. Ahem.... MSRP is $173.00!
