I have heard two (2) versions of how to activate DRL on a US spec XK8.

The first is that any dealer can make the programming changes using his computer console.

The second is that the DRL is a Canadian feature, and that if you want to run DRL, one needs to swap the US headlight control switch for a Canadian version.

I want to use either the parking [city] lights, or send 6 volts to the high beams.

Any ideas?

 

A generic DRL module will work, few bucks on ebay. People here (Canada) install them on US-imported cars all the time.

 

Its an option you can set via the IDS.
