Does anyone use Tyre Cushions when storing their cars over winter? If so, do they need to be the full width of the tyre? I’ve brought a set but they are a little short of the width of the tyre. Does this really matter as the majority of the tyre is on the cushion? Tyre Cushions
Or move it forward and backwards a bit every now and again. I have to say that I have left cars untouched for months and never had a single problem - or even considered that I needed to worry about it. The only one time I had tyres go out of round was a car that sat for many years.
When Jaguar shipped these cars from the factory, the tires came inflated to 60 PSI and we had to release air to about 32 PSI when we performed a PDI. (Pre Delivery Inspection)
The extra air kept the tires round while the new car sat for extended periods until it was sold.
You can just lift the car off the ground and let the wheels 'dangle' to prevent 'flat-spots'.
