Whenever possible I park next to a handicapped spot. They tend to be larger (some even have zebra stripes separating them from the next spot), so if I snug up against it there's still plenty of room for any car that pulls into it, but I wind up with extra room for the car on the other side. What's more, those spots often remain unoccupied for the time I'm there.

Had it towed over to a reputable body shop in town. They haven't opened the hood yet ( fender was over the hood so it wouldnt open) and the estimate is already at $4500. I'll let yall know what the final total comes to after they determine what else needs to be replaced. I know the car has a good book value, but its starting to make me wonder where the line is drawn and they consider it totalled?

Ill tell you now, don't let them use aftermarket parts made with recycled metal, if you need a radiator and radiator support and front clip support.Your well into a high price tag.

Spoke to the body shop this morning. The coolant leak was a hose going to the overflow that got cut. No other mechanical issues thank goodness. They are saying it should be ready on the 20th. I'll keep yall posted.

Good news that it's straightforward bodywork and no major issues with the cooling system.

I'm happy to hear that man.

Now me and you both are going to home depot to buy ourselves safety cones, so when we park our cars, they notice it. These cars sit very low.

When I was very much younger, I interviewed for a job at Rolls-Royce's U.S. headquarters. I went to lunch in the company car with the head of PR. We had to park in a somewhat crowded lot, and he actually hung special "blankets" over to sides to protect it from dings. A little much, but understandable, I guess. (I was a bit disappointed that the ride didn't feel that much different than that of a Chevy.)

Boat fenders!
When I lived in Boston I wanted to hang tires all around my car.

It was brutal! All the big old boats with multicolored fenders not caring at all that the light turned red 15 secs. ago. Full speed ahead!

I agree Stamford, I try for end spots too.Snug up to the side with no other space and hope for the best! Oh yeah, and always furthest from the entrance - but often that doesn't matter. Hard to keep beautiful - pristine, isn't it?!

Got it back today. Of course this great Texas weather has it raining and very dark outside. I "think" It appears to be perfect again. I wont know till tomorrow in the sun for sure though. I'll snap some pics once its done. Very happy to have it back. Of course, after our hiatus, my oldtimers kicked in and it took me 5 minutes to remember where the fog light button was..... time for a beer

Thanks for the suggestion. I had the car running in the pics, so thats why it was up. It still work fortunately. I do have to say, that it is the longest antenna I've ever seen. I guess thats why the reception is so good!
