While looking at this ebay listing Jaguar : XKR in Jaguar | eBay Motors
I saw something in the listing I had not seen before on any XK8/XKR coupe, a sunroof! Was a sunroof ever an option or, as I suspect, was this an aftermarket one?

Strange indeed. I don't see anything in the parts catalog or JTIS that lists a sunroof and it appears that there are a lot of aftermarket bits on that car.

And that is some artsy photography, all the juxtaposed angles are making me dizzy.

I've seen a few sun roofed XK8's & R's coupes over the last few years, but I believe they are all aftermarket. I haven't been able to find a reference to sunroofs as an option on any year.

Looks nice and the sunroof is appealing. Do the red badges indicate Silverstone?

From the appearance,it looks to be factory. Or, a very high quality aftermarket, since it has a retractable sunshade.

It does look original, if it was aftermarket I'll bet it cost an arm and a leg.

Nice sunroof install! Except for the hot air intake, that's a SWEET ride.

As asked by Doug
Do the red badges indicate Silverstone?
The Silverstones all had black side badges and black wheel centers. The interior had the red stitching and all of them were charcoal Connolly leather.

I think that's a really really well done aftermarket sunroof. I don't see the logic in the short ram intake, it sucks hot air, that's hardly an improvement.

It's a really well done aftermarket, it that's what it is. I was always under the impression that for the sake of increased headroom and for the lack of roofline into which sliding panel could go, that Jaguar had forsaken making a sunroof available. This one appears to actually be shallower than the surrounding headliner (giving increased headroom). I wonder how much it is capable of retracting. The pictures just show the shade pulled back not the glass panel. Still, it's done very professionally. It is a very nice looking coupe.
