Default Upper A Arm Shims

Replacing the upper Shock Mount and shock bushing. Would like to know correct way of placing the shims in the upper A arms bushing.
Was trying to hold shims in place during disassembling, but to no avail. They went all over the place and now I need advise on putting them in correct order.
Thanks
Chuck

FWIW, I was able to leave the upper A-arm alone by removing the wheel well liner and angle the strut out and use the extra space by the firewall/purge valve. Tight fit, but it works...

This is one of those things people stress a lot over but probably just doesn't matter.

One thin in front, 2 thick and one thin in back on both sides will probably work fine.

The explanation that the shims are to adjust caster for "road crown" (and, therefore the UK instructions are opposite) doesn't hold much water unless you are motoring your X100 down highly crowned country lanes (mine never has... I live in a Metroplex of 5 million people).

My X100 spends most of its time in the passing lane of 4 lane divided highways, so the adjusting for "road crown" has zero value as the crown is in the opposite direction.

Adjusting both sides for maximum caster does have value, because it improves straight line stability.
