Default Upper Ball Joint

How do you get the upper ball joint out of the control arm? All the videos online show ball joints that have a locking clip
on top but I do not see that on my original or its new replacement. This means the BJ has to be pressed up and out not down and through the arm I guess. Much more difficult. I do have a BJ press and 6 ton shop press but need a hint how to get the old one out of the arm.

Thanks

Surprisingly I got it to pop with this contraption. Really though it was rusted in there but it came out.

Funracer - Strong G clamp and some deep sockets - love it.

Always hate to be defeated, having planned a job, and then coming across an unexpected problem. I love it when you find a "way around" a problem, using tools in the garage, to overcome the problem. Hate it when you have to stop, needing a trip to the hardware store, for a new tool.

^^ Same here. Once I start a job I despise having to stop, semi-clean up, and drive somewhere to pick up a needed tool, bolt, missing part, etc.

Well done Funracer.
Now when you try the lower one a different story all together.
Read up on a couple of threads. One by RD will make you think about buying the whole arm. LOL
It can be done, just have to make a tool to get a straight shot at it. I have yet to do it, so give us your best efforts in a photo thread.
We need to get a member to make up the bridge tool and sell them. Might be more than buying the arm, thanks for your efforts and making it do able for the few of us that will give it a go.

I'm amazed that got it out. Well done.
