Default Upper shock mounts once again

Well - was going to take the Mistress out for a joy ride - I mean she is 23 and likes to go topless! But found a bunch of poly material on the ground where the passenger side tire was - so for the 4th time new upper shock mounts going on (passenger side done using ones I had purchased from Rock Auto a while back before Wayne started his efforts). Will get driver's side tomorrow due to heat!!!! This is the second set of Welsh poly's to go bad (replaced in August of 2020 and less than 10000 miles since then). @cjd777 - I will be sending up the Welsh carcasses for rebuilding - will let you know once they ship

Oct 2013 replaced original upper mounts (~110K miles on them) with OEM mounts
July 2018, those mounts failed at about 50k miles of use and replaced with Welsh Poly's
Aug 2020 - Welsh Poly's failed car at 186265 miles (just under 30k miles).
August 2023 - Welsh poly failed with less than 10000 miles

Now that looks just like all the ones I get in, some much worse.
You are in luck, I'm expecting a set in this week and I will start on them or if you would like to have yours, that's not a problem.
Do you still have my address?

Steve,

Welcome to Wayne's World. You will be extremely pleased with his custom shock mounts. We can all thank Welsh Enterprises for inspiring Wayne and Baxtor to create the ultimate solution for us....

Thanks Jon, but we have not had these out there long enough to say it's solved. I did have a couple of issues, but possible install problem. So, I give each one a few things that need to be done, so far so good.
I still look for better materials and better ways to cut or machine this stuff. Also looking for the material that Baxtor is using to pour new bushings, not available in this country at this time. He did send the molds and I tried a hard silicone, didn't like it under test. Big hammer. LOL
What I'm using is a little, 5 Duro's harder and much easier to get the right crush factor. Long story, I may write it up one day, but right now I'm still trying to improve a couple of things.
I talked to Energy Suspension (Tylor) and Innovative Mounts (Kate) about pouring my finished product, along with Baxtor's large donut, with their material. No interest. One reason, the different size of the metal bells requiring some special fitting on the inside. That's why I wait until I have one in hand before I start, one is .070 wider from top to bottom, huge difference in how well the bushings would stay in place on the larger ones.
Just as information, I had two members send me brand new URO ones, so as not to have down time. Each one was different, one a yellow foam the other a hard silicone. This was after my effort on the silicone, so I know that is not going to work. The foam was already so crushed, the top just kind of popped up when I took the rivets out.
Just a little bit of a update, sorry, but this is the short version, LOL.

Sorry, didn't mean to rant on, just letting you know, I will continue to work on it as Baxtor has done. Together we do have the best answer for now.

Wayne, this material looks pretty close. Polytek PT flex liquid rubbers. Easton PA
Shore hardness to suit, suggest 60A or 70A.
Hope you are well.

Thanks Steve, had not seen that one and believe me I looked and tried a few, would have been a waste of time, except how would I have known.
The one Energy Suspension sells would make materials run close to 1$150 or more. Doesn't sound over the top but it doesn't just happen, as you know we are not a production line. Don't want to be.
Again, will investigate and thanks for the direction.

so round 2 was drivers side today - easy removal but on drivers side the bump stop was completely disintegrated as the pics show. So checked on line and the Moog K90460 replacements were listed in stock at Advance - 2 minutes from the house. Nope, the parts guy can't find them but the Advance 5 minutes from there has them in stock. Go there, she checks yes have 2, goes to look and comes back not in stock and can order be in by Tuesday but Advance 15 minutes from there has 4. Drive to Advance #3 and indeed they have them in stock. Got everything back together, installed and had a nice little road trip to test her out.

Jon, that is the later URO with a silicone type material, much firmer than the early type.
Steve, Glad you were able to find the bump stops, must fit a bunch of cars as I have a couple I keep in stock, just in case.

Thanks Wayne. I wondered if it was a URO because I thought all UROs were yellow in color. Sure hope Steve gets more than a couple thousand miles out of them, but I am not holding my breath....
